Robyn Crane
For more than 20 years Robyn has been working in and around visual effects. Her work in film, animation, television, and commercials has taken her around the world and back again working at studios large and small.
Robyn started her compositing career at Warner Brothers Animation on Space Jam and has since worked at Disney Animation, ILM, Digital Domain, Method Studios, Weta, and Sony Imageworks. In the world of live-action Robyn worked on Vanilla Sky, Star Trek Nemesis, X-Men First Class, Tron Legacy, The Wolverine, Man of Steel, The Hobbit trilogy, and Dawn of the Planet of the Apes. While at Sony Imageworks, Robyn served as Lead Compositor. She worked on films including Storks, Smurfs: The Lost Village, Smallfoot, and Academy Award-nominated Mitchells vs. The Machines. After Sony, Robyn was the Compositing Supervisor at Encore VFX where she worked on Minx, Just Beyond, and All American.
She has a knack for seeing the big picture and making sure the work tells the story. A calm voice of reason and a master of multitasking, this mother of three has what it takes to right the ship when called into action. Through her work in the industry, Robyn has had the opportunity to travel and work around the world. Although she loved her time living in New Zealand, Robyn’s favorite place is home in Burbank with her kids.
Robyn is a member of Women in Animation. Robyn has her Bachelor of Science in Cinema and Photography from Ithaca College.
